100 days old

We celebrated Emma turning 100 days old with Jonathan’s family. She looks so cute these days and is growing big and strong already. We ordered from Shaoshan Impression for lunch. It was honestly much spicier than I remembered from last time. I literally had a stomachache for the rest of the day and a burning sensation afterward. It’s time to cut back on spicy food.

Our nanny has been gone for a week. It’s been a struggle for all of us but has hit E the hardest. She has been really tense, irritable and on edge, especially today. I didn’t know how to talk to her even. And my attempt to soothe her only made things worse. There has been no effective communication between us. She would tear up for no clear reason and told me she was not happy and did not know why or how to fix it. I’m giving her time, but don’t know how else I could help. It’s been frustrating for me too.

In the evening we went to Blue Ridge Club for Singapore’s 61 anniversary with Joanne and Jonathan again. E and I talked a bit but mostly remained silent during the drive. We used to talk nonstop in cars several years ago and joked about silent couples in cars whenever we stopped at a red light. What irony.
